From 3rd June 2024 we will amend the timings of our school day in line with government guidelines for all schools to provide a minimum school week of 32.5 hours.
School starts at 8:45am
Our doors open at 8:40am and we expect all children to be in school by 8:45am.
Nursery and Reception please come to the EY entrance. Class 2 and 3 enter via the main school playground.
What does a typical day look like in....
Early Years
The day in early years is punctuated with dedicated phonics, calculation and story time. At other times children are encouraged to choose their own learning both inside and out. Snack is available through the day and lunch time is between 11:30am-12:30pm. On Mondays Mrs WIlson teaches us and we learn about RE. On Tuesdays our Reception children have 30 minutes PE with a NUFC Primary Stars coach.
Class 2 (KS1)
We have daily phonics , calculation & guided reading sessions. We usually have our English and Maths lessons in the morning and our afternoons cover all other subjects. 10% of our curriculum time is dedicated to RE. We have a morning and afternoon break with lunch between 11:45am and 12:45pm. On Tuesdays we have PE with a NUFC Primary Stars coach and on Thursday afternoons we go swimming at the sports centre.
Class 3 (LKS2)
We have daily SPAG, calculation and guided reading sessions. Most days we have our English and Maths lessons in the morning, except on Fridays when Mrs Wilson teaches us History or Geography and Art or DT. Our afternoons cover all other subjects. 10% of our curriculum time is dedicated to RE. We have a morning and afternoon break with lunch between 11:55am and 12:45pm. On Tuesdays we have PE with a NUFC Primary Stars coach and we have Music where we are currently learning to play the violin with Miss Frances!. On Friday afternoons we go swimming at the sports centre.
In all classes the day is punctuated with prayer and a daily act of worship.
School closes at 3:15pm
Nursery and Reception collect from the EY exit and class 2 and 3 from the main playground.
